Fusion welding
The welding process is special because at the end of it, following quality control and testing of finished products, it is not possible to conclusively confirm that the required quality standards were met during welding and the required weld quality was achieved.

For customers and other stakeholders, this is an important and important part of the management system, because non-compliance with the requirements of the welding process can have far-reaching consequences on health, property and ecology.

The ČSN EN ISO 3834 - 1 to 5 standard is not a standard of the quality management system replacing ISO 9001: 2016. This standard only specifies measures that may be suitable for different situations and at the same time sets out standard requirements for the quality of the fusion welding of metallic materials in workshops or assemblies.
It may be used:
* when negotiating a contract-specification of quality requirements ...
* for manufacturers to set welding quality requirements ...
* for third parties-investors, customers, subcontractors…

Fusion welding is widely used in the manufacture of many products. Welding methods affect productivity and production costs. A company that manufactures metal products and structures using a welding process must have an established and certified (a certificate is not a condition) quality management system for the welding process according to ISO 3834, which provides customers with information on:
* how the company meets the international standard ČSN EN ISO 9001: 2016,
* how it performs welding operations according to ČSN EN ISO 3834-2,3,4
* what is the scope of implementation of ISO 3834 in the process of other activities.

The introduction of a quality system according to ISO 3834 is a condition for obtaining authorization to perform OK according to EN 1090-1, 2 and 3.

A number of ČSN EN ISO 3834 standards have gradually become the standard of requirements for the welding process. Normally, compliance is required under commercial contracts, and some product standards require compliance under manufacturing and product requirements.
